Sees the good in literally everything, try to stop him. Optimist. Daydreamer. Gets disappointed when the reality doesn't live up to his daydreams but has learned that everything can't be perfect. Experiences the world with almost a childish curiosity and is amazed by most things. Loves to learn from everyone and everything. Genuinely warm, caring, heedful, would literally never dream of hurting anyone. Incredibly empathic to the degree that others' emotions affect himself, easily understands what others need. He's a great listener and tell him your problems and he will do whatever he can to fix them and preferably your whole life and also give you a puppy. He cares about others too much and forgets about himself, and if he's not careful, others can easily run him over and use him.

He's private and doesn't talk about himself a lot. Difficult to talk about his own thoughts and feelings, and often feels he can't be himself. Showing emotions and feelings is easy though. He's a bit shy and awkward, low confidence, and believes few appreciate what he does and he often feels like a failure when he doesn't reach his own goals. Not social - being outgoing is something he has learned. Needs a lot of time for himself. Looks calm, but there's a lot of energy and passion when he's stuck for something. Hard worker, gets absorbed in whatever he's doing and forgets about doing the mundane. Afraid of conflicts and avoids them, can't handle critique and takes it personally.

Super intuitive. He knows things and "doesn't know why", and he's most of the time right whenever he gets his 'feels'. He trusts his gut, intuition, and instincts. He gets 'feelings' about things and people, and can easily read a person and doesn't want anything to do with those who feel dishonest and corrupt. Other feelings can be him sensing that something problematic has happened to a certain person and it later turns out the person has been in a car accident, for example.

Human backstory

The witch backstory is not very different but spans across 130 years and involves him being left in a mental hospital at 18 in the 19th century, and he only got out and away from the torture because he accidentally teleported out of there.

Born in Sala, Sweden.
Had a bunch of "imaginary friends" as a child. His parents told him he was lying, Elliot insisted they were real.
He would know who was calling on the phone when it rang, he knew what letters were about before someone had opened them, he would announce the daily special at the grocery store before arriving, he would describe in advance what friends and relatives were wearing or what food they'd be serving before meeting them. He always found his mother's keys when she lost them. He physically felt his family's pain in his body if they were in pain, in trouble, or had a problem.
He began to just know things about the neighbors, and just about everyone he met. He instinctively knew private matters that he shouldn't know and he knew they were true. Just knowing became actually hearing, as if someone stood in front of him and spoke to him, and not only "hearing in his heart".
Elliot was often low, depressed, and close to suicidal as a teen because he felt left out and like he didn't belong. A victim for bullying in school, rumors about him being crazy, he was strange and moved funny and couldn't tie his shoes. Spirits harassed him. It became difficult to know which people were real in the flesh and which people were dead. Overwhelmed by the spiritual world and bullying from both other students, teachers, and his familly - depression got the best of him and Elliot attempted suicide at the age of 18. He became involuntarily hospitalized.
He met a deaf girl, Emma, in the same age when he was a child and began to learn sign language through her, as well as bothered his parents because he wanted to get to know her. It worked well apparently, because at the age of 23, they got married, and later had a daughter named Fawn.
He got a job as a high school teacher and the being a psychic thing was a hobby for a long while until he became more semi-professional in his 30s and had larger group seances for the first time. He also became interested in using tarot as a sort of aid, and to give the client spiritual guidance, and not only being a medium for the dead.
Elliot and Emma divorced when they were 35, as Elliot had come out as gay. Not that he didn't love her, because he did, but cracks grew in their marriage and they had to go separate ways. Ever since, Elliot has had little luck with finding a new partner because of the fact that he's psychic. Either they don't believe him and think he's nuts, or they do believe him and run because they don't want him to find out something he shouldn't.

Witch (or mage, or sorcerer, or whatever)

There are two types of witches in Elliot's original, fandomless verse which are either born witches or taught witches, and the only difference is the limitations in their power and aging. With enough practice a born witch can be close to unlimited, but a taught one will always be dependent on various tools. A born witch has a prolonged lifespan, and if nothing kills them, they can become 800 years old.

Elliot was born a witch and has learned a lot from his parents and various teachers. Forever curious and hyperfocused on his interests, he has taught himself even more over the years. By now he is one of those you go to if you need to know something special about a spell, creature, potion, ritual, and the like. He collects magical artifacts that would be dangerous in the wrong hands and he has a small library with old, dusty books in different languages about magic and creatures.

He knows spells, curses, invocations, telekinesis, telepathy, magic infusions, teleportation, etc. Pure iron can weaken his ability.

His familiar is a black cat named Caleb written by tooxldtorememxer.

Extra

PSYCHIC/INTUITIVE MEDIUM

Elliot is psychic, which means his intuition is incredibly strong and he senses things so well and so much it can seem like he's reading thoughts. Secondly, he is a medium, and that means he communicates with spirits. He gets answers through all senses by the spirits - he sees, hears, feels, smells, and tastes. With these two gifts (or curses), he can easily read a person's life situation, emotional life, what has happened, and what will eventually happen. He can use tarot or drawing as an aid, but it's not necessary. This ability is separate from him being a witch.

This means metagaming will/can occur. If you want Elliot to read someone, you're gonna have to give me the information.

OLD SOUL

You know how some people are just... old souls? Elliot is one of those. He's old, so incredibly much older older than his 42 years (or +130 years) on Earth. His soul is also bright, radiates strongly of unconditional love and warmth. This usually makes all kinds of beings attracted to him and his presence, human or non-human.

Elliot is surrounded by ghosts and spirits. Here are the most common ones in his life.

PETE SUMNER, the friendly house ghost - You can include him in our threads!

Died: 1996, age 31.
Cause of death: Slipped on ice just outside the door and hit his head on a rock.
Pete lived in Elliot's house when he was alive. Ever since, he has decided to stay in that house. Pete is a very physical spirit and interacts with the living world a lot. Lights turning on or off, the faucet suddenly running, things falling/moving, footsteps in the stairs, a touch on the shoulder - it's probably Pete just doing his business.
While it might be scary, Pete is very friendly, social, and has a ton of humor. If you're sensitive or record EVP, you can definitely hear him talk or laugh.

BLUE/BLÅ, spirit guide

Blue is named Blue because they show up as a blue dot for Elliot. They have been with him since he was a child, and was his first spirit guide to show up. Who they are, what gender, where they're from, etc, Elliot still doesn't know, and Blue doesn't say. Elliot talks to Blue on a daily basis and often works with Blue when he has clients.

MÁRET, spirit guide

Máret is Elliot's great grandmother of Saami decent on his father's side. Elliot has no memory of her from when she was alive in the flesh, as Máret passed away when he was very young. Máret, however, being a psychic medium herself, decided to stick with Elliot as his spirit guide. He first noticed her when he was 10 years old, and she has been around since.

Christoffer, spirit guide, "conduit" guide

Christoffer came into Elliot's life when he began to study mediumship and intuition more seriously in his late 20s. This is the guide Elliot works with 99% of the time when he has clients, and Christoffer makes sure Elliot isn't bombarded with different energies and protects him in a way.

MAI'RANA & ZAI'KIRA, pleiadian twins, spirit guides

They always appear together, almost as if they're one being. These Pleiadian twins came to Elliot when he was 33, and has stayed. No other being can radiate so much unconditional love, peace, and light like these two can.

Verses

He is a witch where supernatural things and beings are allowed. The nature of his witchyness can be tweaked to fit the particular verse if necessary.

Where it is not allowed, he is a human and not that into witchy things, mostly only the spiritual.
